Preferred Entrance Exam Date
Students applying for a Music Theory or Musicology degree must take the entrance exams for theory and history on their "audition" weekend and need to select a date. For students applying to be performance majors, these exams are also required, but taking them on the audition weekend is optional, as there will also be a chance to take the exams in Fall 2025 before the semester begins. Students applying for Music Therapy have separate entrance exams that will be scheduled directly with the Music Therapy faculty.

Special arrangements for auditions and exams MUST be made with faculty and/or proctors BEFORE submitting this application. This option is not for inquiries or tentative scheduling. Please contact the division or program head in your Area of Study to make any special arrangements. Questions about graduate entrance exams may be directed to Joanne Filkins.
